Nothing to pay until March

We understand that embarking upon a career at the Bar is difficult enough without having to worry about your accounts. So, as soon as you commit to Cassons' On Your Feet service we will complete your registrations for VAT, income tax and national insurance. In addition we will provide you with MORE software to enable you to keep accurate and efficient records from the outset.

In due course we will complete and submit your first tax return, if required. Plus you will receive ongoing telephone assistance and newsletters. All that we require is a commitment from you – and there is nothing to pay until March.

On Your Feet Features:

  • Registrations

    We will complete your registrations for VAT, income tax and national insurance.

  • Tax return

    We will complete your tax return (if one is required) promptly upon receiving any additional information we need.

  • Bookkeeping software

    We will provide you with easy-to-use, video-supported MORE software, free of charge, for your bookkeeping. It has been configured specifically for barristers' use and is very easy to follow, which will enable you to keep accurate and efficient records from the outset.

  • Ad hoc financial advice

    We will discuss with you and provide initial advice on events that occur from time to time in your professional and personal life.

The cost for this complete service is £100 per month + VAT

What happens next?

Our on your feet service is specifically for pupil barristers and will ensure that your affairs are set up properly. Once you are past the following March, you need to progress to one of our packages for established barristers.

Silk Lite is a more economical option as we will produce your annual accounts, complete your tax return and give you some tax planning advice but you look after your own bookkeeping and send in your own VAT returns.

Silk is the ultimate package as it means that we deal with absolutely everything such as your bookkeeping, and all of your compliance including your VAT returns, plus advice on all of your personal financial matters.
