Tax relief on travel and subsistence

04 November 2008

Barristers will get tax relief on the cost of their business travel.

But be aware that business travel does not generally include the cost of travel between your home and chambers (including parking costs), if chambers is your normal workplace.

Refer to your adviser if you consider your home to be your normal workplace.

The cost of travel from home or chambers to Court and between Courts is generally allowable.
