Cassons present to Northern Circuit pupils

Cassons presented to the Northern Circuit’s pupils in a session on “Organising your finances” at Kenworthy’s Chambers, Manchester on Friday 16 December 2016.

Cassons have presented to pupils from the Northern Circuit for over 20 years, and are delighted to continue to provide this advice. The presentation informs the pupil barristers of their responsibilities once on their feet, including bookkeeping, VAT, tax and financial planning.

This year, 40 pupils attended the seminar.

Tony Reynolds, partner and head of Cassons’ bar department explained: “We have a morning with the pupils to go through all of the practical accounting, tax and financial issues that pupil barristers will need to be aware of. We ensure the session is as interactive as possible, encouraging the pupils to ask questions to make sure they fully understand the world of a barrister!”

Over the last two decades of presenting to pupil barristers we have built up a section of FAQs aimed specifically at pupil barristers. These can be found at http://www.counsel.cassons.co.uk/faqs.
